CCDP (Cisco Certified Design Professional) certification
The CCDP, or Cisco Certified Design Professional, is the intermediate-to-upper tiered certification for those with an advanced knowledge of network design. To qualify for the CCDP certification, candidates must first obtain the CCDA and CCNA certifications.
After this you must then pass 3 further exams, 642-801 - Building Scalable Cisco Internetworks (BICSI); 642-811 - Building Cisco Multilayer Switched Networks (BCMSN); and 642-871 - Designing Cisco Network Architectures (ARCH). Of course, you also have to pay the appropriate exam fees and sign the Cisco Career Certifications Agreement before you can call yourself a CCDP.
If you wish, you can take the composite exam (642-891 Composite) which essentially combines the 642-801, Building Scalable Cisco Internetworks (BSCI), exam and the 642-811, Building Cisco Multilayer Switched Networks (BCMSN) which will shorten the length of the CCDP track by one exam.CCDP certified candidates are required to recertify every 3 years by passing the relevant Composite exam of the time.
CCDP certified candidates should be able to design routed and switched networks including, but not limited to, LAN, WAN, and dial up services, apply modular design principles and be able to maintain and optimize the business and technical functions of the system.
The following links should take you to free CCDP study guides and CCDP practice questions to help you study and prepare for your CCDP certification. Recommended reading, if you need it, is the 'Cisco CCDP Training Kit'.
You can get a cheaper set from Amazon by going to their second-hand section. Be sure to check out the other Cisco pages on this site as there may be many other cross-over resources that I haven't listed here that may well help you on your journey.
